If you are trying to help your child at home with Internet issues, this is a great place to find any questions you or your child may have. I have found a great amount of relevant and up to date information at this site.

This site combines several kid-friendly search engines into one place. I think this site is a one-stop-shop when it comes to research.

Fun Facts About Thanksgiving, and Turkeys

 

Americans feast on 535 million pounds of turkey on Thanksgiving. 

 

Turkeys have heart attacks. When the Air Force was conducting test runs and breaking the sound barrier, fields of turkeys would drop dead.

 

Turkeys can drown if they look up when it is raining.

 

Benjamin Franklin wanted the national bird to be a turkey.

 

There was no milk, cheese, bread, butter or pumpkin pie at the original Thanksgiving Day feast

 

President Abraham Lincoln established the original date for our National Thanksgiving Day celebration in 1863

 

Congress did not declare Thanksgiving a national holiday until 1941.
