If you are looking for a middle school with the greatest students and staff, you
found it.We are located in the
beautiful Arkansas River Valley within sight of some of the most spectacular
mountains on the planet.Many of
those mountain peaks top out at over 14,000ft.Thousands of people visit our area each year for the multitude of outdoor
recreational opportunities and wish they could live here.
I personally feel fortunate to be able
to do so.
Our professional learning community strives to maintain high expectations for
all students and staff.This year we
have close to 200 students enrolled in grades six, seven, and eight so we are
small enough to know each of our students personally.While we are a small school, we still offer our students a broad academic
program which, beyond the core subjects, includes band, choir, art, shop classes
and a full range of athletics.
We have a wonderful staff that works hard with our students and is committed to
providing each student with high quality instruction to help ensure that each
one reaches their highest potential.We are sensitive to the needs of all our students and are dedicated to giving
them our best effort.We believe
that every student can learn, so we maintain a progressive middle school
philosophy that is student-oriented. It
is the staff’s desire to instill within each student a love of learning in order
to influence a community of lifelong learners.
The McGinnis school staff has high expectations for our students.We expect good citizenship, an honest effort to learn, and a cooperative
and responsible attitude from our students.There are three key words that we use at McGinnis Middle School:
Respect, Attitude, and Effort.These three words embody the expectations for everyone at our school.
